I cut this from an ingot I reclaimed. It is close to 1/8 thick. The bail is riveted. The hammer itself is about 1 1/2 long. It feels very good in the hand.
This strong form appeals to me. I like the idea that this design begins as a pagan symbol but was later viewed by Christians as a cruciform.
Here is a variant. It’s 2 and 1/4 inches long, cut out of an ingot and forged. It also has a riveted bail.
And another. This is Sterling with a turned Osage Orange wood handle. It’s only about 1 and 1/2 inches long. It’s very cool.
